Suburban public transit
This is a summary of my Bachelor's thesis (written in 2004). It is about public transit in suburban and rural regions. Different questions about special needs and problems of public transportation in such regions are being treated, based on an analysis of the transformations in transport organization and regulation since 1996, when responsibility for public transport in Germany was transferred to the Regions. Demand-oriented means of transportation are an important component of public transportation in regions where demand is generally low. In the future, more effort has to be put into the analysis, structure and clarity of the offer. The short version of the bachelor thesis can be downloaded.
