This is a work of F. Qualizza (Venice, Italy) and J. Bouchain (Stadtkreation), developed in an urban design class held by Prof. Dott. Arch. Fusi at the HCU in 2005/06. Swiss Urban Experiment treats the question of how borders between city, the built space, and landscape, the unbuilt space, should be marked in the future. The heart of the project area is the Lorze river valley, a green axis between the sprawling communities of Zug, Baar, Cham and Steinhausen in Switzerland, fourty‑five minutes south‑east of Zurich. Instead of drawing straight borders, the idea in this solution is to interlock the landscape and the city in a zig-zag of positive and negative volumes.
